St. John’s Home for Elderly Persons
Corporate Social Responsibility
In the current age of Internet of Things (IoT) and automation, there will undoubtedly be people who are left behind. This is especially so for the elderly population in Singapore who are the pioneers of the country. These are the people who have given their time, energy and heart to build our nation to where it is today.
Having been a pioneer in IT monitoring and protection business, NetGain Systems understands the needs of our customers and have helped to eliminate hours of IT downtime. As an organisation with a strong focus on putting others first, giving back to the community is one of our corporate core values.
With our strong foundation build for business growth, we look to contribute to the elderly population and make a difference in their lives through our corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts.
Established in December 1958, St. John’s Home for Elderly Persons is a Sheltered Home for elderly persons aged 60 and above who are ambulant.
Their mission is to provide shelter and care for the physical and spiritual needs of such elderly persons who have no home or suitable accommodation, and no children or close relatives who have adequate resources to look after them. Despite being a Home started by Christians, it is open to all regardless of race or creed.
As a long-term residential Home for the elderly, they provide accommodation, meals, laundry and basic medical care. St. John’s Home for Elderly Persons relies on generous donors and volunteers, as well as upkeep fees of paying residents, to get by.
Every donation will enable them to continue providing a conducive, clean and safe environment for the elderly to live out their golden years in comfort and dignity.
“We are thankful that NetGain Systems has decided to adopt us. It is a great opportunity for us to raise awareness for the Home, especially with our urgent need to raise funds for our new building. I am sure the Home and our elderly residents will greatly benefit from this partnership.”
Mr. Goh Beng Hoe
General Manager, St. John’s Home for Elderly Persons
By adopting St. John’s Home for Elderly Persons in 2017, we see this as an opportunity for us to contribute by volunteering at the Home and collaborating in the donation drive for the Home.
More hands make the work lighter. By volunteering at St. John’s Home for Elderly Persons, the time and resources that we invest help the elderly residents to live comfortably and happily.
To many of the elderlies, St. John’s Home for Elderly Persons is their personal home. Some of the elderlies are willing to help the staff with their daily tasks. More than seeing the staff as people operating the Home, it is a big family where the elderlies belong to and live with.
Additionally, St. John’s Home for Elderly Persons is not a government-funded home. This gives them the challenge of raising funds for their operations and the new building project that they are currently embarking on.
Being a relatively small charity with limited resources, it poses an even greater challenge to raise sufficient funds to build the new building, which has to be done by 2021, as they have to return part of their current land as a requirement by the government.
Thus, we are committed to this CSR journey with St. John’s Home for Elderly Persons. We are dedicated to play a part for building a new home for the elderlies in St. John’s Home for Elderly Persons.
